Golf Course Founded: 1971 - Architect: Robert Dean Putman
Recently completely renovated, the North Course is now, for many players, the golfing highlight at La Manga Club. The North Course is more undulating than the South and offers a different, yet no less challenging, round of golf. Relying on precision rather than length, an added challenge is provided by the barrancas that snake their way through the course.
These natural storm gullies feature on all three golf courses and add an extra dimension to the game. As with the South Course, and particularly on the back nine, water is a prominent feature.
The North Course at La Manga is a par 71 layout where precision rather than length is the main requirement. Strategic ravines around the course will make laying up a sensible choice for most players most times, and hitting a ball right to left will also be an invaluable help.
Slightly hillier than La Manga South Course, spectacular views across the resort can be seen from the 4th tee, the highest point on the course.
Beware the short 2nd, only 96 metres long from an elevated tee but with deep, narrow green where the player can easily 3 putt. The greens are not as big as those of the south course, but they are well protected by deep bunkers and with their subtle breaks are assured top test players of all abilities.
